What is Faith?
"Faith exists when absolute confidence in that which we cannot see combines with action that is in absolute conformity to the will of our Heavenly Father. Without all three—first, absolute confidence; second, action; and third, absolute conformity—without these three all we have is a counterfeit, a weak and watered-down faith.... Only when our faith is aligned with the will of our Heavenly Father will we be empowered to receive the blessings we seek." (Elder Joseph. B. Wirthlin: "Shall He Find Faith on the Earth?", oct. 2002 General Conference)I absolutely love this quote. I use to have the first sentence of this on my wall. Now I realize that there is much more to this quote than I originally memorized. I think it is important to recognizing that aligning our faith with the will of God EMPOWERS us to receive the blessings we seek. That means, that we may be the ones to create the blessings we seek - but it will be through power with God and it will be through faith in something - even something that we cannot see.
